Day 47 – John’s Island

Published: May 19th, 2010 by anthony

We love new stuff!  New shoes, new pennies, and definitely new stores.  The John’s Island Bojangles’ opened 2 days ago and boy does it look it.  It looks like a store from the future.

Kind of space age isn't it?

I’ll tell you, everyone in John’s Island is hopeful about the future, now that Bojangles’ is in town.  Everyone we talked to told us how excited they were that we had come.

I don’t know what these kids did, but it must have been really bad to need a police escort to breakfast.

And old friend popped up today.  Do you remember a few years ago the chicken puppet from the Bojangles’ commercials?  Were you wondering what happened to him?  Well he’s hanging out at John’s Island.  Him and all his little finger puppet brothers.

Another oldie but goodie arrived this morning.  A seasoned gentleman was sporting an old Bojangles’ t-shirt, designed for senior citizens.  Or as Bojangles’ likes to call them, VIP guests.

VIP baby!

Bojangles’ has a strong past and a bright future, especially with stores like John’s Island in the team.  Keep it up guys!

Day 46 – Beaufort

Published: May 19th, 2010 by anthony

Friend CrusinSCBojangles’ on Facebook! If we took your picture today, see it here.

We saw lots of men in uniform down at the Beaufort Bojangles’. Located near Paris Island, 30 min from Hilton Head, and just a bit further to Savannah, this nice looking (and functioning) Bojangles is in the right spot for business. There was an amazing mixture of young, old, seasoned customer, first-timer, professional, and retired – all of whom love some famous chicken at Bojangles’.

One loyal patron, Pam, merely asks for “The Usual” which means a 2piece dinner, a leg and thigh, and dirty rice. But today, she took advantage of incredible Rollback pricing and had an 8piece box for $5.99 instead.

A mother brought her daughter in for her first Bojangles’ experience. After I gave them both one of my free biscuit coupons, the mother was so pleased that she kissed my arm. I feel loved.

This lady used to be a Bojangles’ employee back in 1995-1997. Now she takes care of other senior ladies. She loved loved loved her Bojangles’ bag.

Hey! You bet me 5 bucks that I wouldn’t put you on the blog today. I win.

Best line I heard today: “My husband asked me ‘When can we stop eating chicken?’ I told him ‘When Bojangles’ goes outta business!’”

What’s up kiddo?

Day 46 – Santee

Published: May 18th, 2010 by anthony

Friend CrusinSCBojangles’ on Facebook! If we took your picture today, see it here.

Our Bojangles’ stop in Santee, SC was a big ‘ole friend reunion. Scores of people participated in devouring food at our 1979 Rollback prices – the biscuits were especially good today. These three ladies knew each other but hadn’t seen one another in awhile. Nothing like Bojangles’ bringing people together.

Friends reunited!

A cool group of Bojangles’ patrons claimed their corner again this morning. As you walk into the store, the first section on the right belongs to the Santee Bojangles’ Club that holds Symposiums on World and Local Issues. Congrats on having the longest title in the world…You can thank Mayor Ralph (the guy on the left with glasses)

Bojangles' Symposium

A group of high schoolers from Lakes Marion High School came for Rollback prices and some giveaways. We ended up getting a musical performance!

Classic line of the day: Me – “Here’s a Frisbee for you, sir.” Uncle Paul – This is the first time I can understand you cause you don’t have food fallin’ out of your mouth.”

Thanks Uncle Paul.

Hi kiddo! Hello dogs!

Good morning, kiddo

Dog number 1

Dog number 2

If this crew has to sign a contract to work at this specific Bojangles’, do they read through all the fine print and check for a Santee Clause? Didn’t think so….

A+ crew

Day 45 – Walterboro

Published: May 17th, 2010 by anthony

Friend CrusinSCBojangles’ on Facebook! If we took your picture today, see it here.

Bojangles’ is all about tradition.  Friends and family who make their local Bojangles’ their home away from home.  Loyal customers who come every morning for some hot, fresh and tasty biscuits and they not only get their delicious breakfast, but they get it with speed and a smile.  Day after day, week after week, year after year.  We met a couple this morning who have been loyal customers ever since the Walterboro Bojangles’ opened its doors… three weeks ago. Here’s the first couple to ever eat at this Bojangles’.

First Walterboro customers

Look everything has to start somewhere, and like I said Bojangles’ is all about tradition, so we think that the Walterboro store will be making lots of tradition in the years to come. However, today people loved the items we were giving away. Why don’t you hold up your goodies for us?

Frisbee Man

I love stree relievers

I love boats

The Walterboro staff is primed and pumped up to be a super Bo-staff.  They can handle any order with the speed and grace of a cheetah chasing down a Cajun Filet Biscuit.  And they do it all with a smile on their face and a biscuit in their belly… hey everybody’s gotta eat.

Awesome crew

I saw the strangest creature today.  I honestly, have never seen anything like it before!  So of course I whipped out my Verizon Droid phone and took a picture before it flew away; then I did a quick Google search.  Turns out, it was a Giant Leopard Moth.

Leopard Moth - BEWARE

Guess he was hunting down some sweet BoBerry Biscuits like the rest of us.

We’re nearing the end of our tour, only 10 stores left to go!  So remember, on May 26th, every Bojangles’ in South Carolina will have the 1979 rollback prices all day long.  We’ll be at the 100th store that day: Gardner Ferry’s Rd in Columbia.  If you’re nearby come see us, if not no worries; you’re Bojangles’ will be serving 2-piece dinners for only $1.99 too.

Day 44 – Herlong Ave, Rock Hill

Published: May 17th, 2010 by anthony

Friend CrusinSCBojangles’ on Facebook! If we took your picture today, see it here.

At 11:57am, we hopped out of our RV and began giving out free biscuit coupons to all the Bojangles’ patrons we could find. Yeah, we started 3 minutes early but we’re rebels without a cause…well I guess our cause is to give Bo-Fans free food and gifts but you know what I mean.

Family with Bo

“You young people think us old people don’t know how to have fun, but you just don’t understand” said the lovely lady in teal. She said all this while grooving her hips to the ‘70s music playing in the background. I guess you could say that she doesn’t talk the talk, she dances the dance.

She knows how to have fun...

How strong does our chicken & biscuits make you?

SO STRONG!!

Recognize this darling from Chester? We did.

We recognize you!

Probably the most heartfelt story of this entire trip was told to us today. Martha and Frank, Martha’s brother-in-law, have a tear-jerker of a story about Bojangles’. (Warning: reading this may induce a teary substance from eyes) Martha’s sister, who was Frank’s wife, was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. While undergoing chemotherapy, she wouldn’t eat anything the hospital provided her – only Bojangles’. She said Bojangles’ chicken and pintos were the only foods she could taste. She ate Bojangles until she passed away. Now Frank and Martha, whose husband has also passed, eat at Bojangles’ together almost every day.

Frank & Martha

Here’s to the amazing crew that keeps this place running strong.

Great crew!

Cute kids…and a dog.

Hi little one!

Hi baby

Day 44 – Fort Mill

Published: May 15th, 2010 by anthony

Friend CrusinSCBojangles’ on Facebook! If we took your picture today, see it here.

Our normal cruise stops consist of handing out coupons, talking with people, giving way free items, more conversing with people, and finishing up our stop with pictures and hearing customers’ best Bojangles’ stories. This was not a normal stop. Lots of gift-giving and little conversation. We met well over 500 people in the two hours we were there.

Tons of people!

A group of older gentlemen came in like they do every Wednesday and Saturday morning. The Early Morning group loves great fellowship & biscuits (I think the Cajun Filet is their favorite).

Early Morning Group (part of them)

These high school guys who just finished a camping trip came in for a hearty breakfast – just like they do every Friday morning, Saturday morning, and any other day they want a good breakfast. Seems like these guys are just like the Early Morning Group in-training…

Avid campers & Bojangle-ers'

If you can believe it, this couple has never eaten a BoBerry biscuit before today! I promised them if they would eat a BoBerry, I would put them up on the blog. I am a man of my word….

BoBerry couple of the Day

Sweet 1930s car.

Sweet car

When cute babies want a free coupon, who can really resist? I know I can’t. It’s the “If you can grab it, you can have it” rule for children under 1 year old.

"If you can grab it, you can have it"

More cuties (selected at random because there were WAAAAY too many this morning)

Cute. Period.

Cute with glasses

Hey little man...

Someone ate themselves into a nap...
