Day 39 – Pelham Rd, Greenville

Published: May 11th, 2010 by anthony

It was unseasonably warm today at the Pelham Rd. Bojangles’. Maybe it’s that whole Global Warming thing, or maybe it was all the Cajun fried chicken people were getting today because of the awesome rollback prices. Either way, we put on our shorts and sunscreen and dove in to give out 100 free biscuit coupons.

The people who frequent Bojangles’ are some of the best people around.  We might just be two guys driving around in a big yellow RV to every Bojangles’ in SC, but we think that everyone we’ve meet on this tour so far has been pretty cool. First of all, no other restaurant would put two crazy guys like us on a mission to visit every one of their stores in the state, and secondly, no other restaurant has fans that would follow us to SIX of our tour stops. Bojangles’ is that kind of a store. And these ladies are those kind of fans.  And I did say six tour stops.

6 stops!

These ladies haven’t been the only ones. Several other patrons have diligently followed us to more than one tour stop.  We always appreciate our fans. Some of our fans even feel like family.

Day 29 – Surfside

Fresh air and fresh biscuits – I could be in Heaven right now. Our stop on Loyola Highway this morning was one of the most relaxing mornings I can remember with its warm weather, warm customers, and warm biscuits.

Lots of families came by to chow on some great food. Personally, I love the egg platter with a Cajun filet on the side. Delicious. This little girl has a different idea of a delicious breakfast: a cinnamon roll with a side of mac ‘n cheese. To each his own!

Plenty of patrons decided to take it easy this morning. A few gentlemen were reading newspapers to pass the time, while others were enjoying the morning news playing on the TV in the corner. The manager at this store, Gary, knows how to make people feel at home in his store. Not kidding – at least a dozen people wanted to let us know how much they enjoyed coming to the store especially with him as the manager. He must be doing something right, and this plaque proves it.

We also got to meet the King!  I think he’s been working out or something.  He looks younger and thinner than he has in years.

Anthony swooned.

Matt also met his favorite Bo-customer so far.  Her name is Ms. Rosie, and she just makes him feel good about himself.

Can’t miss seeing the cuties!

Day 29 – S Kings Hwy

Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow will keep us from our Bojangles’.  Despite the light rain, loads of happy customers filed in for some tasty rollback prices and free giveaways.

The S Kings Hwy Bojangles’ is a family store.  The owner employees his girlfriend, son, daughter, mother, best friend’s son, and a couple of other people he likes!  It’s great to see families working, playing, and staying together.

We met a funky group, who come in almost everyday.  They refer to themselves as the “Well-Done Ham Family.”  The WDHF was so excited about seeing us.  They already knew everything we’d have to give away and made sure that we found our way over to them.  One of the ladies offered to help Anthony remove his shirt so that she could keep it as a souvenir.

We won’t tell you who.

We also met a gentleman named Hobert Johnson.  Hobert is a retired pastor, who comes in all the time with his wife Polly.  Not only has Hobert performed a wedding ceremony at the Conway Bojanles’, but he also likes to draw.  In fact, he has drawn caricatures of the whole staff and any of the guests in the restaurant.  He even drew us!

We got to tell you about Clara Young and her husband Bob.  Clara likes to knit.  SO much so she knits all the newborn baby hats for Grand Strand Hospital… did we mention she does it for free?

We have tomorrow off everyone, so we’re going to go enjoy the beach.  Well maybe after we enjoy a few Supremes. Mmmm…
